Categories of Private Law

Contract Law When contractual obligations are not fulfilled.

Family Law Regulates marriage/divorce, adoption, custody, alimony, child support payments, etc.

Property Law Regulates the area of buying and selling land, houses, buildings etc. Also regulates renting and leasing property.

Wills and Estate Law Regulates what happens to a person’s estate (property) when they die. A website describing estate law and estate lawyers

Labour and Employment Law Regulates the area of working conditions, unions, minimum wage, workplace safety, etc.
