Liverpool’s leading…approach to integrating Health into all policies

Background to project The project 2 ½ years Partnership approach

Aims: develop a HIA culture in Liverpool organisations, integrate HIA into policy development. Objective: Build capacity for HIA, support HIAs.

What the project has done so far….. HIA Officer installed Assessed ‘level of readiness’ High level commitment Embed HIA into organisations Capacity Build HIAs

How we’ve done it…. Baseline Assessment Declaration Conference Integrated Screening Tool & HIA Policy HIA Network Supported HIAs eg, Action Learning sets.

Role of HIA officer ‘sit’ within the Forward Planning Policy Department of City Council to ensure health is incorporated within planning policy eg Core Strategy. Support HIAs being commissioned within the Council & PCT’s. Present papers HIA Integration of SEA & HIA Promoting this project
