Backgrounder The O Jewelry is an E-boutique that started officially in May 2013, this brand consists of delicate rings, necklaces, bangles that are made with precious or semi precious stones. It gives a choice to each of its pieces with their unusual shapes, colors and textures. This brand is created and owned by Shamsa Al Omaira, an Emirati artist born and raised in Abu Dhabi, being a woman as she said inspired her, “ Being a woman was the first inspiration for my first collection”. Her ideas are expressed through a variety of media including painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media installation, and with found and collected materials. Through her process of art making, her work transcends and becomes a form of personal confessions, which are inspired by historical possessions and childhood memories. Every piece of jewelry she produced has a meaning or a concept behind it, also her collections are connected to one another in a unique way. What’s so special about this boutique that it gives the customers the choice to chose what kind of gold they want: white gold, yellow gold or rose gold. The O Jewelry also hosts private parties for individuals so they can try the pieces in the comfort of their own home or where ever they want the viewing to be, before purchasing any of the pieces; also those kinds of parties includes catering and waiting staff.

Even though Shamsa’s jewelry business started in the early 2012’s her work was exhibited internationally in Italy and London, and locally in Dubai and Abu Dhabi at the Art Hub. Her creativity and her unique idea have made her enter the world of jewelry design successfully and now her jewelry’s are the trend. Now the O Jewelry has so many loyal customers and it gets admiration from the UAE and also from the GCC countries. The artist is thinking about opening a small boutique for The O Jewelry soon, in the capital (Abu Dhabi) since the E-boutique got recognition locally and internationally, if everything worked out with her new collection she might also get another boutique outside the country.

Shamsa Al Omaira was also chosen as one of the Emirati artists to be published in Art of the Emirates, a book that will be launched soon in the UAE.
