Land and Water 1 China’s landform is made of deserts, highlands, mountains, and rivers. Most of the western part of China is deserts, and highland. Mountains and rivers are at east side of China. On the next page, it will talk about rivers.

Lands and Water 2 Did you know that there are 2 important rivers in China? One of the river is called “Yangtze” River. It flows 6,300 km (3,915 mi) eastward East China Sea. Yangtze_River_Map.p ng Another Important river in China is called “Huang He” (Yellow) River. It flows 5464 km (3398 mi). It’s 6 th longest river in the world. Climate and Vegetation 1 In East Asia, the climate is very similar in United States. Monsoons affect the climates in China. Monsoons pick up moisture, and later, they drop moisture as rain or snow.

Climate and Vegetation 2 In China, we can easily understand by the changes of weather by plants. For example, bamboo grows really high in a wet season in southern in China.

Natural Resource In China, these are the important resources in China: Coal Iron ore petroleum, Natural gas Aluminum Hydropower China is able to make the largest hydropower dam in the future.

HISTORY The first Emperor At 221 B.C, Qin Shihuang became the first Emperor of China. He died at 210 B.C. He only control his land for 11 years because his doctors believed mercury could make him live forever, and he actually drank it. The poison from mercury diffused all over his body, and he soon died.

Cultures & Historic Traditions One of the Chinese traditional clothes that Chinese wear is showing Chinese culture. Another example is language in China which we call `Mandarin.’ and there are lots of other forms of this language. ages/HH thumb

Ethnic group In China, there more than 55 ethnic groups in China. The Han group have 93% of Chinese land and about 1,310,000,000 people are living in China.
