Cost-Benefit Definitions Free-ridership: The percentage of customers who would have bought the product without the incentive Spillover: percentage of customers who buy the product that aren’t part of the program. Realization Rate: The actual savings compared to the expected savings Coincidence Factor: The chance that a saving will occur during each measure period DRIPE: Demand Reduction Induced Price Effects (explained in next slide). DRIPE Full form: Demand Reduction Induced Price Effects Run the most efficient power plants first (when load isn’t too high) cheapest power plants run first Example: winter is estimated 6.8 cents. DRIPE for this year is an additional 0.5 cents (additional savings). Updated Goals What are the inputs? Flowcharts are a good start. The Energy Efficiency planning use to be done yearly and is now switched to every 3 years. UI would like an update for the 3rd year plan. Would like a model for years The Residential part of the excel sheet needs to be cleaned-up first.
