°National Policy Dialogues are carried out within the EECCA component of the EU Water Initiative °The EUWI was launched by all EU Member States and the European Commission at the World Summit on Sustainable Development °National Policy Dialogues are the main operational instruments of the EUWI

National Policy Dialogues on IWRM in EECCA In Armenia and Moldova, the overall objective of the National Policy Dialogue is to contribute to, and facilitate, the implementation of the principles of the Water Framework Directive and the UNECE Water Convention related to IWRM with a link to financing issues.

National Policy Dialogues on IWRM in EECCA The success of the EUWI-EECCA Component and of the NPD depends on a long-term commitment until 2015 UNECE facilitation of NPD relies completely on extra-budgetary funds As a first step, resources were mobilized for an initial period of two years Parties to the Water Convention and other partners (e.g. EU Member States) should make sure that the needed resources are also made available in the long term Lessons learned and recommendations
