Vikings Attack Britain By Mahdi Sadr

Who Vikings also known as the Norsemen. They were great travelers and often sailed to parts of Europe. They came from Denmark , Norway and Sweden. Also known as Scandinavia.

Where The area Vikings settled was called Danelaw. They also settled in Derby, Whitby, Selby and Grimsby in England.

When The Vikings invaded Britain in the 9th century AD and lasted for 300 years. The Vikings first invaded Britain in 793 AD and last invaded in 1066 when William the Conqueror became the king of England after the battle of Hastings.

What The Vikings attacked Britain in their special boats called Longboats and won a part of Britain which is now known as Danelaw.

Why The reason most Vikings attacked Britain is simply because they needed more land to grow crops. Their land isn’t good for farming, Norway was hilly, Sweden is covered in forests and Denmark had a lot of sandy home land.
