In the year 41 AD the Romans from Rome invaded England. They stole everything that the English (Celts) needed. But the Roman settlers also did some good they bought fruit and vegetables over Rome to England. However in the year 410 AD the Romans were chased of by us English back to there home land of Rome.

In the year 410 Britain thought that will be the final time country was invaded but disaster struck only five months since they chased of the brutal Romans Vikings from Denmark and Norway attacked. This was a terrible time if you were a monk or a nun because all of the monastrys were people worked were burned down and the workers tortured. The only sign of hope was a monarch called Alfred the Great who took on those Vikings and defeated them. So in the year 1066 the Vikings left.

The year 1066 was a changing point in British history. Britain was invaded by the Normans from France led by William the conquer. A mager battle took place in Hastings called the Battle of Hastings. Unfortunately for us British our king Harold Saxon was shot in the eye and died.

Medieval times were the worst times in British history there was civil war again. In the 12 th century there was a terrible war called the hundreds year war. One century later the worst came to England the great plague came killing of many villages. Finally the middle ages came to an end at the terrible war of the roses.

The Tudor Era was different from the other Eras especially the fact that Britain won wars. The first king was the winner of the war of the roses Henry 7 th nobody liked him much. So it was a big relief that the next king came only 25 years after the Tudor Era began. His name was king Henry Viii he had six wives and executed two of them. Next came his son Edward but sadly he only ruled for 6 years. He was followed by Lady Jane Grey you ruled for just nine days. Then came Edwards older sister Mary she planned to turn Britain back into a catholic country but her plans failed. Finally came Elizabeth1st she defeated a plot from the king of Spain and survived a disease called small pocks.

The first Stuart was a man called James 1 st of England and Scotland. He was lucky to have survived a gun powder plot by the crook Guido Fawkes. After that we had a king called Charles 1 st that was trouble began in England. In the year 1642 civil war broke out in England the Roundheads led by Oliver Cromwell vs. The Cavaliers led by Charles the first. After years of fighting it came to a conclusion that Roundheads had won and poor Charles 1 st was sentenced to death on January 29 th The terrible reign of the strict puritans had begun there leader banned everything that the public enjoyed even Christmas. But after 15 years the monarchy was restored and everything was restored. But the poor people of London had no houses at the end of the year 1666 everything was burnt down in the great fire. The Stuart Era finally came to an end in the year 1714.

The Georgian Era was time of great discoveries a man called captain cook discovered Australia. Britain defeated the French rebellion. We started to see growth of a glorious British empire witch spread round the globe. The nation had four king Georges.

In Victorian times there was a massive difference between rich and poor you could tell by there clothes. Our queen Victoria married a German prince called Albert who was also her cousin. They had nine children. But sadly Albert died in 10 years since the couple got married.

In the nineteenth century Britain played a part in both world wars. The people of Britain thought that world war one was the war to end all wars they thought wrong in 1939 the was another world war world war 2. England had to fight the Nazis for a terrifying 6 years.
