DCS Draft Document introduced at last meeting. – No comments received
Short Term Decisions from last meeting Laying cable from tunnel to control room Gilles Marie informed of cable choice. Rack J01 has been allocated in PC farm on surface. Will also have interlock for limit- switches.
Decisions & Tasks from last meeting Architecture of control system decided. Space allocated in “upstairs” rack. Gilles Marie informed about choice of cables and locations. Need to liaise with CERN beams/targets group for specification of PLC and interface boards (Piotr Golonka)_ Install PLC and connect cables. Specify obtain and fix ATEX diaphragm motor Design/install end-limit interlock Modify PLC code to interface to NA62 DCS Integrate motor control into DCS user interface
Motor controls Work of Magnus Loutit – Preliminary drawings available for the control of the existing motors (attached to this presentation) 1A (X), 1B (Y), 1C(Diaphragm) – Bill of materials being compiled
Note about Diaphragm Motor May not be possible to find a24V-DC ATEX-2 rated motor. Most low voltage motors have brushes, which spark, so aren't suitable for potentially explosive environments. The fall-back solution if we can't find a suitable motor in time is put a temporary box near the CEDAR containing a relay and a 240V- ->24V power supply.
