Student development at a Catholic College means creating opportunities for: Spiritual formation (e.g. Campus Ministry) Psychological & emotional growth (e.g. Career & Counseling) Health and wellness (e.g. Health Center & Sports) A Spirituality of Work for Student Development Professionals

Student Development Professionals are charged with providing direction and leadership to these efforts, and bringing them to life in a Catholic community, often within a distinct tradition of a Religious Community. A Spirituality of Work for Student Development Professionals

Sister Joan D. Chittister, OSB (born April 26, 1936) is a Benedictine nun, author and lecturer Sr. Chittister earned her masters degree from the University of Notre Dame and her doctorate in speech- communication theory from Penn State University. She also served a year as an invited-fellow at Cambridge University. She has authored 40 books, and she has won nine Catholic Press Association Awards, including the most recent in June 2009 for The Gift of Years.
