 It includes: * No. of units in each stage. * No. of lessons in each units. * The sequence of 4 language skills in the unit. * No. of periods taught in schools every week.

 Is the number of lessons allowed for E4P at school sufficient to the lessons in the book? How? No. of lessons No. of periods No. of lessons No. of periods The students’ level No. of students

 1. What is the number of units in each stage? 2. Do the 3 stages have the same number of units?  3. How many lessons does each unit have?

No. of Lessons No. of Units Stages 6 each unit. 96 yearly 18 yearly 9 in semester 1 st Stage: “Grade 3” 4 each unit 96 yearly 24 yearly 12 in semester (5-7) 2 nd Stage: 6 each unit 108 yearly 18 yearly 9 in semester (8-10) 6 each unit 72 yearly 12 yearly 6 in semester 3 rd Stage: “Grade 11”

Language SkillStage Reading listening and speaking Integrated Skills reading writing Grade 11

4. How many lessons does each textbook have? 5. How many English language periods are taught in government and UNRWA schools every week for every stage?

No. of Periods Gov. UNRWA Private. No. of Lessons Stage 5 weekly3 weekly 96 yearly 3 weekly 96 yearly 6 each unit. 96 yearly 1 st Stage: “Grade3” 7 weekly5 weekly4 weekly 96yearly 4 each unit 96 yearly (5-7) 2 nd Stage: 7-8 weekly5 weekly 160 yearly 6 each unit 108 yearly (8-10) 7-8 weekly weekly6 each unit 72 yearly 3 rd Stage: “Grade 11”

UNRWAGovernment For 1 st Stage= sufficient For 2 nd Stage= sufficient Why? Because the periods are equal to the No. of lesson Teachers do some extra classes. For 1 st Stage= sufficient. For 2 nd Stage=sufficient like grade 9 Not sufficient because of the large amount of information in SB and WB like grade 8 and 10 For 3 rd Stage sufficient For Teachers To some extend, it’s sufficient. If we take other conditions into consideration, it may be not sufficient. These conditions are: Large No. of students in classes. Individual differences Time consumer. The quantity and student’s level. Our Opinion

 1- Teacher can combine 2 similar or connected units in one class.  2- Teacher can do extra voluntary classes for revision, practice, complete the lessons.  3- Teacher gives Ss summary paper for some simple lessons to be studied at home and revise it with them quickly at the beginning of the class.

 1- Planning  2- Revision  3- Assessment
