Yep….

Enjoy speaking Spanish! (or pretend that you do…) Do everything in class with 100% effort. Practice at home! Ask questions! Be awesome. Don’t be a jerk. HOW TO GET AN ‘A’ IN SPANISH

On time = Sitting in desk when bell rings (3 tardies = detention and parent contact) Each day, take out your Spanish binder and homework. Complete the bell work (“Calentamiento”) quietly. Volunteer often. Take risks. NEVER sit and do nothing because you don’t get it. Be completely intentional. All the time. Stay organized! IN CLASS

Etiqueta de práctica Labeling work José Johnson Hora 1 Fecha Write last name or last initial every time! Write the hour every time! In many Latin American countries, the date is written day/month/year ie: 3/9/13

If you are absent, you should (in this order): 1. Check the wall calendar (Find any necessary worksheets in the colored drawers.) 2. Ask your partner 3. Check with me (if needed) You have ONE day for each absent day to make up work or it becomes LATE. ABSENT?

Do your daily practice. Don’t be afraid of Spanish words. me with questions! Study the vocabulary (separately from what’s assigned). Study with a friend (but do your own work). Wordreference.com = good Google translate = baaaaaad (cheating  ZERO) AT HOME

You will have daily practice assigned most days. Practice may or may not be checked for credit on a daily basis, though I reserve the right to do so at any time. It is your responsibility to be accountable for your effort. Late work may be completed for 50% credit before or after school with Sra. Stewardson within one week of due date. No late work will be accepted that is completed outside of class or beyond a week after due date. Hint: JUST DO IT THE FIRST TIME! All work not completed on time or with Sra. Stewardson will receive a 0. If I suspect cheating, I reserve the right to give a 0. DAILY PRACTICE

Don’t leave class ever. Just don’t. If you are not in class, you are not learning! (If you must, stay tuned….) HALL PASSES

You will receive 2 Grace Passes each quarter. You may use a Grace Pass for any of the following: - to turn in a late assignment without penalty - to excuse a tardy - to use a hall pass - to take a “Day Off” (Requires BOTH Grace Passes) Students will be rewarded for unused passes turned in at the end of the quarter. GRACE PASSES
