The Simple Science of Cleaning Water is the simplest cleaning agent but it needs help Imagine trying to wash a greasy plate with just cold water. Detergents help water to break down soil and remove dirt and stains. They also hold dirt particles in suspension. This prevents dirt and soil being re-deposited onto clean surfaces.

What is a pH Scale? The pH scale ranges from and will measure the degree of alkalinity or acidity in a cleaning product.
