Useful tips for CE Oral Paper Role play Group Discussion

Role play How to introduce yourself before you start the interview Start with a greeting, introduce yourself (including your name, and the post you are holding), and explain why you would like to interview him / her. Then ask if he /she is willing to be interviewed.

Situation (1) You are a reporter, Chris Wong. The editor of your newspaper has asked you to interview Hong Kong residents about pollution problems. He/ She has given you a form to use during the interview.

Suggestion on how to start the introduction Good afternoon, I’m Chris. I’m working for a local newspaper, and I would like to write a topic on pollution problems in Hong Kong. Before I write it, I want to interview some residents and see how you people think about it. Would you mind answering some questions? It won’t take you long.

Exercise Read the following situations and write an introduction for each situation. Situation (A) You are a Form 5 student, Chris Wong. Your careers teacher has asked you to do a survey about what jobs Form 7 students in an international school would like to have when they leave school. He/ She has given you a form to use during the interview.

Situation (B) You are Chris Wong, a trainee with an employment agency. Your boss has asked you to interview someone who wants to find a job. He / She has given you a form to use during the interview. [HOME]
