Union Support for Career Pathway Development This presentation will cover: The role of the Union Learning Rep (ULR) Supporting Apprenticeships and Beyond Employment Rights and Responsibilities
The role of the ULR Involve all union reps in support of workforce developmentprocesses, shop stewards, safety reps and ULR’s Equality and Diversity as a constant theme ULRs will promote learning and development ULRs can find access to additional training (e.g. ULRs arranging and promoting ‘Get on at Work’ events)
Supporting Apprenticeships and Beyond The Apprenticeship programme not just a framework, look to provide additional training Level 2 apprenticeships: there is a need for development of progression opportunities and for level 2 Apprentices and for people at level 3 and above Work with the unions to ensure not seen as job substitution
Employment Rights and Responsibilities As Trade Unionists we inform our members of their rights … we also inform them of their responsibilities We seek to work with employers to ensure that the public service workforce is trained and supported appropiately
