Highlights of the Year (1) Under stewardship of Jimmy Walsh/Vivian Ruddy and the very active support of mgt team we succeeded in fielding three U13 Football teams( originally 2)- all are still fighting for championship honours. We struggled during the year to field two U15 football teams and the easy option would have been to fold one. Due to persistence of mgt and committee the profile of both has risen considerable and are now very credible in both divisions. Thanks to everyone for their support on this issue. Championship wins for both our U12 Football teams (A&B). Excellent work been done at this level U16 Hurlers won the Championship against our local rivals Judes- first time beaten them since Feile. First ever championship win. Both Feile teams qualifying for the finals in Parnell Park but unfortunately came up against tough opposition in Crokes. Competing is important but not winning at all costs. Numerous Teams travelled outside the county to participate in tournaments and improve on skill level

Highlights of the Year (2) Opening of Ballycullen Academy and the changing format of same Subsequent Golf Classic to financially support. Thanks to Ned Slattery and his team for running the classic. Review of ‘Guidelines for Juvenile Mentors’. Reference book for all sponsored by Jimmy Walsh of Dara Creative. Glen Keegan and ‘Cian Durkin’ tournaments Bank Holiday in May. Club a hive of activity with teams from all over the country. ‘Coach the coach’sessions with Pat O’Shea & Paudie Butler Introduced a few small initiatives to work closer with schools. 97% of Juvenile members paid in full.

Challenges that lay ahead. We need to consider if streaming is the correct approach and elicit support from other clubs if we want to change current CCC view. Review of coaching/mentor policy. Juvenile calendar – how can we improve? Burnt Out – sub-up. Do we have a policy? Minor discipline issues.

Appreciations Paddy Walsh and all the Executive Committee. Coaching staff Brian,Paul and P.J Noel Sheridan John Cummins All juvenile mentors Ned Slattery and the bar staff Paddy Brady All our referees Senior Hurling and Football section esp. player assistance Especially our many sponsors.

Appreciations To all our local schools and teachers for promoting and fostering our national games Ballyroan Boys School, St. Mary’s BNS, St. Colmcille’s NS, Knocklyon, Scoil Treasa, Scoil Carmel, Gaelscoil Chnoc Liamhna, Rathfarnham Church of Ireland National School, Colaiste Eanna, St. Colmcille’s Community School, Knocklyon, Firhouse Community College.

Basic Philosophy ‘The greater the sense of achievement, fun and fairplay that young people experience when participating in Gaelic games, the more they will enjoy their involvement and strive to develop their True Potential’
