The International Atomic Energy Agency oversees the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Western governments don't trust the Iranian government with its nuclear facilities -IAEA plays a very important role by paying close attention to Iran's nuclear activities

Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Any country who signed has agreed to never create any nuclear weapons Instead, allowed to enrich uranium to 10% for peaceful programs such as nuclear power plants or medicine Enriched uranium to about 90% provides enough power to create a nuclear bomb What is the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty?

The Concern The Iranian government is NOT ALLOWING the IAEA into their nuclear facilities the IAEA is becoming suspicious Government claims that nuclear activity is directed towards peaceful purposes

The Consequences If Iran's government doesn't let the IAEA into their nuclear facilities... An economic sanction against Iran to import and export products o Means that the people will be punished because of the government's actions

Possible Solutions The Iranian government could.... Provide evidence and explanation what they are using the enriched uranium for: o medical purposes o power plants
