Presentation transcript:

* Members of the Class of 2016 and beyond must obtain a minimum of 24 units of credit which includes the following planned courses (also commonly referred to as “Core Courses”) : * English4.0 * Math4.0 * Science4.0 * Social Studies3.0 * Physical Ed/Health2.0 * Electives5.0 * Arts and Humanities 2.0 * Minimum Graduation Credits 24.00

It is imperative to schedule “Core Courses” as described before in order to properly prepare for the Pennsylvania Department of Education Keystone Examinations, to satisfy Graduation Requirements, College Admission requirements and NCAA Eligibility Requirements.

* The graduating class of 2017 and beyond must meet proficiency on the Literature, Algebra and Biology Keystone Exams in order to graduate. Any student who does not meet proficiency must participate in a Keystone Remediation Course for each Keystone they failed. Each Remediation Course is worth a.5 credit and will be counted as an elective. * CDT test results will be used as one of the measures in determining your Honors level or AP level placement.

* Your schedule should include the following “Core Courses”: an English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Health & PE class. These courses are indicated in BOLD. * All core courses will be yearlong. * Most elective courses will be semester long and worth a.5 credit. * Please make sure to choose at least 6 elective courses for next year. * Please read the course description. Be mindful of prerequisites.

Optional program requirements are detailed in the Planning Guide. The following are a list of the programs available for the school year: * Work Study * Please return all required paperwork by the end of the drop/add period. * Cadet Teaching * Early Graduation * Please apply for early graduation by June 1, * Dual Enrollment * If you wish to participate in any of the optional programs available for seniors, please indicate this by listing your selection as an elective on your course selection sheet.

If you have applied to The School of the Arts (Fashion Design, Performing Arts, Visual Arts) OR The School of Medicine or Health Sciences, you must: * Create a general schedule. * If you are admitted to one of these programs your schedule will be corrected at a later date. * Check the box listed on your course selection sheet indicating you are applying for a specialty school.

There is “NO Guarantee” you will be scheduled for all of the courses you select. DO NOT HIT THE “FINALIZE SELECTION BUTTON” ON THE SECOND SCREEN. * Please review your course selection worksheet with your current core subject teacher. * You must review your course selection worksheet with your parent/guardian and obtain his/her signature. * Once you have reviewed your course selections with your parent/guardian you will select the “FINALIZE SELECTION BUTTON” SCHEDULING WORKSHEETS MUST BE RETURNED TO MRS. OLLEY IN THE EAST SUITE BY APRIL 17, 2015.
