3 3 Short Service Worker Program Man Hours Trainee Focus Points 1. Definition of Short Service Worker Program 2. Evaluation Cards 3. Process This program establishes minimum requirements for improving Evergreen safety for new to site workers.
4 4 Definition of Short Service Worker Program Short Service Worker (SSW) Employees that are new with less than 6 months with experience. More susceptible to being involved in a work-related incident. Employee needs orientated and trained on safety procedures for specific worksites. A single crew cannot be a SSW. Crews of less than five shall have no more than one SSW.
5 5 Definition of Short Service Worker Program A designated Evergreen employee, which serves as a mentor/coach. Must have on-going daily contact with SSW. Buddy: Site Safety Mature Person: An Evergreen Worker who as demonstrated his/her working knowledge and skills. Becomes Site Safety Mature Person after graduating from the SSW Program.

9 9 Trainee Performance Card Process Safety Tech Operator Site Mgr. Payroll Card is Given to New Hire Along With instructions Give Card to Supervisor at end of each job Evaluates Performance. Completes Card. Returns to employee. Meeting Held With Tech & Supervisor. Coach/ Counsel Employee Return Card To Employee Forward to Branch Safety Average Score Among Total Hours. Does Score Meet Minimum Required? Branch Manager authorize Raise if Qualified and Submit Payroll Adjustment Form with Original Card to Corporate Payroll Office, Attach Congrats Letter to Paycheck. Maintain Copy of Card in Employee File at Branch Office. Issue new card with sticker to Tech If Necessary. Enter Raise if Authorized. Card placed in employee file. Card Complete? Score of “1” Given?
