The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Stig Langvad, Independent Expert Member, CRPD Committee Article 19  Living independently and included within your local community  A right for all persons with all kinds of disabilities  Any institution is considered to be in conflict with the UN CRPD regardless of place and size  The right for everyone to choose where to live and with whom  Everyone must have access to the necessary assistive devices and accommodation based on one's own choice  The right to be visible and make social interaction  The obligation of the State party to provide sufficient accessible accommodation/housing 4

The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Stig Langvad, Independent Expert Member, CRPD Committee Article 22  The Committee has not yet been very focused on this article  But the right to individual privacy of all is to be looked upon with great seriousness  The place and organization of living facilities can be having a great impact on the ability to be respected in relation to your individual privacy 5

The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Stig Langvad, Independent Expert Member, CRPD Committee Article 28  Everyone has the right to an adequate standard of living  Persons with disabilities should not be expected to have a lower standard of living because of disability  All persons with disabilities must have equal access to various forms of support, including financial  Basically no person with a disability should be expected to pay for expenses related to one's own disability 6
