Chair: Hanna Jaireth (TILCEPA) Our focus:  To share experience and lessons learned about the evaluations of management effectiveness, particularly with respect to meeting the needs of indigenous and local communities  To explore the concepts and principles of cultural and community indicators from the perspectives of indigenous and local communities SESSIONS 2a AND 3a

 To explore the concepts and principles of cultural and community indicators from the perspectives of indigenous and local communities, and to discuss:  Is further research and development needed on indicators and methodologies for assessing PA management effectiveness?  Should IUCN develop and endorse minimum standards for assessing management effectiveness?  Should we have a certification scheme for management effectiveness of PAs and CCAs WPC Rec 5.18 (9)?
