 Coordinate points are also called ordered pairs.  They tell the location of the point on a coordinate plane.  They are written (x, y), where the ‘x’ coordinate represents the location along the x-axis and the ‘y’ coordinate represents the location along the y- axis.

To locate a point, you begin counting at the origin..A.A You move along the x- axis first. In this case, we moved two places to the right, or +2. Next, move along the y-axis. In this case, we moved three places up, or +3. The location of point A is therefore (2, 3)!

(-2, 4) (x, y) We find -2 on the x- axis first. Next, we move up 4 spaces on the y-axis. Here I am!
