Gather all supplies needed. Make sure the gas tank is full in the car. Get as far as possible from the hurricane’s target. – evacuate Don’t go back to your home until it’s safe. Bring a radio for further updates. Stick together until everything’s clear.

The eye is the calm center of a hurricane. Don’t be surprised if wind and rain stops during a sudden hurricane; the hurricane has not ended yet. Stay inside your home and listen to the radio to see when the hurricane truly stops.

The devastation of a hurricane can come in many ways, whether it’s death, damage, or missing a family member.

More people are killed in floods then any other hazard. You should never play in a flooded area. Floods can cause just as much damage as any other storm.

Hurricane Katrina was a storm that happened in 2005 Because of the storm kids don’t know if their parents are alive Parents don’t know if their kids are around It knocked a lot of houses and businesses down Katrina is a hurricane that made history They thought that the Superdome was a safe place to be There are donations from people in the world you wouldn’t believe People in New Orleans are the ones that will receive We hope they recover and get back on their feet Not worry about shelter and what they will eat When a storm hits like Katrina there’s no way that one could win We just have to hope and pray that she’ll never hit again.
