F OUNDED 1937

Why Christian higher education? 79 percent of all freshmen believe in God when they enter college. 69 percent pray. 81 percent attend religious services, at least occasionally.

Why Christian higher education? More than 50 percent of Christian students who attend public colleges claim minimal to no religious affiliation after four years. For Christian students who attend secular private colleges, that number is 63 percent. The only exception to these statistics is among students who attend purposefully Christian colleges.

The more conservative a student’s faith background, the greater the change in his or her religious affiliation at a private secular or public institution.

Why Christian higher education? According to The Washington Post, faculty at most non-Christian colleges disdain Christianity: 72 percent indicate they are liberal; 84 percent favor abortion; and 67 percent indicate homosexuality is acceptable.

Why Christian higher education? 400,000 high school seniors each year would meet the admission criteria for a distinctively Christian college. Only 65,000 choose to attend a Christian college. Of the remaining 335,000 – if we lose them at only the 52 percent public university drop rate – then approximately 175,000 young people are moving away from their faith each year.

Price vs. Cost

Atlanta Christian College is the only fully accredited, distinctively Christian college in metro Atlanta.

Our Vision Atlanta Christian College’s vision is to be the college of choice for students seeking a Christian learning community that is academically challenging, spiritually vibrant and globally engaged.

Our Mission Atlanta Christian College’s mission is to educate students for Christ- centered service and leadership throughout the world.

Who is Atlanta Christian College? Private, four-year Christian college in East Point, Georgia Founded in 1937 Degree programs in seven areas of study Biblical studies, business, early childhood education, English, humanities, human relations and music Regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Education program accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)

S TRATEGIC P LANNING AND G ROWTH

Strategic Review Completed a long-range strategic planning process in Worked with Performa Higher Education campus master planning consultants to evaluate and recommend improvements to current physical facilities. Certain sizes work best for private colleges. 400 students is more difficult to maintain than 1200 students. The College must grow in order to succeed.

How do we grow? Change financial model Adult degree completion Online/distance learning Multi-campus Relocate traditional campus

ACC BHAG Build the premier Christian College in Georgia Enrollment of 1,200 students by 2012 Fully relocated main campus Multiple extension sites Expanded degree programs Adequate endowment

A DULT AND P ROFESSIONAL S TUDIES

Access: Adult & Professional Studies Target Market: Adults 21 and older Working, single head of household Some or no prior college work Primarily female Usually need financial assistance Looking for intangible help and support – evangelism opportunities

Relocation of our Campus As we grow, we will need additional and improved facilities. Campus master planning work showed there are significant issues with our current campus: Facilities are outdated, inefficiently constructed and in need of repair. Current land will not accommodate the new facilities we would need in order to grow. Cost of rebuilding on current land would be enormous. Trustees unanimously voted in October 2007 to relocate.

Relocation Process Seven to eight municipalities expressed interest in recruiting the College to relocate to their communities. Trustees narrowed options to two locations: Newnan and Peachtree City. Trustees will decide between final options – ideally by late summer or early fall. Actual relocation will likely be a 2-4 year process. Legacy in East Point: a facility for adult degree completion?

ACC Volunteer Opportunities Advisory Boards Identify academic and business function areas Identify business leaders for each board Federal Appropriation Requests Assistance with key political leaders Market Awareness Spread the news that we exist Share the vision with key community influencers Project Management Volunteer leadership in relocation transition

ACC’s Prayer Requests Find a way to be financially solvent during the period of transition from our current status into the new vision A plan to wisely use our resources (financial and human) during the transition Recruit visionary, Christian volunteer leadership to assist in building the new Atlanta Christian College
