Electronic Residency Application Service The online common application for most AOA and ACGME internship and residency programs.

You will obtain a login to ‘MyERAS’ once ERAS releases the tokens to the class of 2014 (end of June—all medical schools). This is how you will access and maintain your ERAS application. AAMC ID/VSAS Other useful areas of the site: MyERAS login Important Dates Resources/User Guide Lots of great tutorials! Participating Specialties/Programs

Components: Student: Input application fields/create ‘CV’ Personal Statement (multiple) Send: COMLEX and/or USMLE Select programs/assign certain documents Career Services: Attach: Letters of Rec (3-4) per student request Attach: UNTHSC/TCOM Transcript Attach: Dean’s Letter/MSPE Attach: Photo-optional (default: ID photo)

Be Prepared to Pay (2013 costs): $92 for first 10 programs, per Match (AOA, ACGME), per specialty. Goes up incrementally per program after first 10 applied ($ /ea.) Board Transcripts: $70/ea. One page (appx words) Specific to your chosen specialty / career goals Components: Explain your specialty choice and how you arrived at it, including a discussion of medical school rotations, clerkships, and other experiences that helped you formulate your decision. Also, why medicine as a career? Describe what you are seeking in a residency program, i.e. research opportunities, academic research, etc. Discuss your career goals; what do you plan to do in your chosen field? How can the residency program help you achieve your goals? Send to Career Services for review
