Your Responsibilities You will be expected to take care of your clothes and shoes. Everything must be labelled. At some boarding schools you will wash, iron and fold your own clothes. You will buy personal items like towels and toiletries. Everything should be labelled. You will be expected to replace them when they run out. You will learn new routines. You will be responsible for getting up and getting ready for school on time. It is your responsibility to look after your body and your personal hygiene. You Discuss that with all rights come responsibilities – explain that in living in a boarding school there are some special responsibilities. These can be done as a puzzle where they have to read the correct text and place it beside the correct images. Your valuables and your money are your responsibility. You will learn the rules at your school for using electronic devices like mobiles and ipods. will also have to make sure you eat well, do your best at school, study at set times, have a bath and go to sleep when you are expected to. Could record these on the white board or on a chart. Explain to them that it is important to know what your rights are as a young person. When you go to boarding school you will be living away from home and away from your family and the people you have always relied on to support and protect you. When you go away to boarding school you should know that you have the right to ........ And that if you feel that you are not receiving ...... Doing Secondary School! You will learn how to read and follow a timetable. You may have to learn how to safely use equipment for new subjects. You may move around to different classrooms for lessons and you may have to use a map at first to find your way around the school. You may be expected to use a homework diary to write down your homework each day. You will be expected to do all homework tasks. CLOZE ACTIVITY on paper where they have to take the correct word from a list and place it in the space in each text block You will be doing different subjects and you may have different teachers. You will need to learn to work with each teacher and understand the rules for their subject. You will be given assignments to work on in your own time.
