HOW TO ADD EVENTS FOR THE CALENDAR APPLICATION (ANDROID™) Hasan Siddiqui
The first step is to open the Calendar application. It comes stock on all Android phones. This will be the first screen to come up. It displays an overview of your schedule of the day. It shows your schedule a few hours before and after the current time.
The next step is to navigate to Menu More New Event. This is screen to add a new event. You can enter basic information such as the name, time, location, and description of the event. You can also file this event under any calendar you would like (personal, school, work, etc.)
If you scroll down a bit, you will see options to invite people to the event. You can do this by simply entering their individual addresses under the “Guests” field. You can also make groups of addresses in Gmail.
If this is a event that repeats, you tap on the drop down box underneath the “Repetition” field.
This will show a screen that allows you to set how often you want to repeat the event. A limitation on the mobile application is that you cannot add custom repeats (i.e. every Mon and Wed). This is possible if you add the event from the browser. You may also choose when to terminate the event from your desktop browser version (i.e. every Mon and Wed until 12/15/11).
After you are finished with your event, tap “Done”. Your new event will be added to whatever calendar you selected.
Example You add an event such as “Optional Lab Session” that repeats every Wednesday until the end of the semester. You can file this under the Calendar “EDIT ” If you share the Calendar “EDIT ” with students in the class, they will have access to an up to date calendar at all times.
