ACTION PLAN Mrs. Nudrat Ali Akbar D.A. College For Women Phase VIII Economics , Grade XI.

LONG TERM GOALS Adapt 21st century teaching approaches to enhance students’ appreciation of Economics

SHORT TERM GOALS Change my questioning strategies with students to promote critical thinking. Focus on encouraging students instead of praising Encouraging collaboration among students . Developing habit of newspaper reading, gianing information on current affairs and report writing.

Instructional Strategies and Tasks I will provide more opportunities for students to answer questions that require higher –order thinking. I will encourage students to update their current affair knowledge related to the topic with the help of report writing. I will facilitate discussion on their findings in the class the next day. I will ask questions from students that would require graphical and numerical skills to answer. I will allow students to gather in randomly assigned groups or pairs to discuss how to best solve numerical problems of National income statistics. I will ask questions to students that will require them to solve numerical on various aspects of the chapter.

Solutions To Anticipated Challenges There may be students who might not want to work in a group. There may be students who are weak in solving numerical and understanding the difference between different concepts and method of measurement of national income. They would need extra attention. Few students might not be able to follow the directions correctly regarding gathering material on current national income statistics of Pakistan compared to other countries. It might be time taking and I might end up spending more than the scheduled time. Group discussion in class might create disciplinary issues. I will randomly group students to persuade them to work in collaboration with the other class members. I will assure each group has a fast learners so that he/ she helps the others in solving problems. I will share my plan with the head of the department and intimate her regarding the time required to complete my plan. Strict class control will be required, to extract desired results in allotted time.

TIME LINE (August 7 days) DAY 1 : I will share my plan with the head of the department and intimate her regarding the time required to complete my plan. Then will introduce the concept in class. DAY 3 : Continuation of lectures, explaining the various concepts of national income. Deducing the slight difference between each concept, explanation of methods of measurement of national income , its uses and difficulties in its measurement. DAY 2: as I carry on with lectures, I will randomly group students to increase collaboration among class members. : I will assure each group has a fast learners so that he/ she helps the others in solving problems DAY 5 : Students will be taught to solve numerical in form of groups previously made. Then students will undertake assessment and activity in class. DAY 4 : I will explain the remaining part of National Income in the class. Then students will be taught ways to gather material on the topic using news paper & other media as a take home task. DAY 7: A revision will be done to strengthen the loose ends.
