Bangladesh & Pakistan

Early History  Bangladesh and Pakistan are young countries with growing populations and an ancient history. Throughout the years after they gained independence, both countries went through political issues, war, and struggles.  One of the world’s first largest civilizations known as the Indus Valley civilization began around 2500 B.C. and it was the first city to have perfect sanitation systems and large cities.

Struggling Economies  Most of the farmers struggle to grow enough crops to help feed their families, The irrigated portions of Indus Valley is one of the most productive farming areas. The main export is Jute.  Pakistan and Bangladesh isn’t highly industrialized. Both countries are trying to increase their industrial base. The important economic development is thanks to Microcredit.

One Religion, Many People  In Bangladesh and Pakistan, most of the people are Muslim. Due to the difference though, cultural diversity occurs. Both countries are alike, but Pakistan is very strict on its laws while Bangladesh has less strict laws.  While Bangladesh only has Bengalis, Pakistan has 5 ethnic groups and each of those groups has its own language.

Modern Life and Culture  For both Bangladesh and Pakistan, poetry is a special interest. Poetry helps draw thousands of people, much like a huge concert.  Both Bangladesh and Pakistan share similar music traditions to India. Bangladesh has a long tradition of folk dances.

Disasters 1. A Cyclone is A violent storm with fierce winds and heavy rains. 2. Cyclones affect region by bringing death and destruction. 3. The cyclone of 1970 compare to Hurricane Katrina in 2005 is both have a lot of water while hitting cities and countries, Also by destroying homes.
