Case Study Bingo Club Today you will know the assessment objectives used in Business Studies. You will understand each assessment objective and the skill it is assessing. You will be able to apply your understanding of the assessment objectives to the Bingo case study.

Assessment Objectives… When you produce a written answer in business studies it is assessed using the following assessment objectives… Assessment Criteria Explanation skills required fro the assessment objectives Mark Guide AO 1 Knowledge This is your own knowledge and understanding of the business studies theory 2/3 marks AO 2 Application This when you apply your knowledge to the case study. 3 marks + AO 3 Analysis. This is your ability to explain in FULL the impact of the theory on the business and its stakeholders. 4/6 marks AO 4 Evaluation This is your ability to form judgements and make decisions based on your analysis and using evidence from the case study Marks

Case Study Bingo Club Read the Bingo Club case study. Highlight the key points.

Discuss the leadership style of Kamal, the Club Manager in London. To what extent do you think it proved effective? (15 marks) Start with a definition of Leadership (AO1) Then take each leadership styles, define them (AO1) and then usinging the case study explain how Kamal could be seen to be Democratic, then autocratic or paternalistic. It is important that you use evidence from the case study to support your answer (AO2) Then in full the knock on effect of Kamals leadership style, how did it impact the staff, customers, sales, revenue etc. (AO3) Then you need to show judgement – what leadership style did he have and how was it effective? Use evidence to support your answer. (AO4) 20 minutes

Revision Questions… Read through the leadership and management styles chapter of the text book. (Pages 244 – 248) Then complete the revision questions on page marks – 40 minutes Then answer the Bingo Club question
