National context for infrastructure organisations External driverHow we have responded General trend to move from grants to contracts We have convinced both Conservative and Labour parties to support grants in their policy documents We led the BIG Question 4 campaign Kevin Curley chairs the Local Grants Forum EVS project supports organisations to challenge unfair decision-making processes We set up LCPU to support LIOs to support the local third sector with this, and to influence public policy Conservatives gaining in popularity We are influencing Nick Hurd about the value of funding infrastructure. We have enabled him to hold 10 consultation meetings with NAVCA members

National context for infrastructure organisations External driverHow we have responded Need to respond to Defra’s Third Sector Strategy LIOs are represented on Defra Third Sector Advisory Board (Richard Gutch, NAVCA Board) LIOs are represented on the Rural Services Network (David Morgan, Voluntary Action Stratford-on-Avon District) Organising Shining on a Shoestring – a learning and networking event for smaller LIOs Asset Transfer We collect information about local experiences of asset transfer, and enable networking to share experiences Recession and funding cuts Local Resilience Action Plan work will help us demonstrate the importance of local infrastructure
