 flagged - skating  Both these words have a base word, an ending, and a spelling change.  Today you’ll learn about endings for plurals, words that mean “more than one.”

 stars - wishes  To make words mean “more than one,” the ending –s or –es is added.  The ending –s is added to most words; -es is added to words that end in sh, ch, tch, s, ss, or x.

 city - cities  If a word ends in a consonant followed by a y, you will change the y to an i and add -es.
