Multiple Intelligences Goals: To understand Howard Gardner’s theory of Multiple Intelligences Explore the implications of the theory of multiple intelligences for schools and society.

DO NOW In your notebooks answer the following questions: What does it mean to be intelligent in our society? What abilities do our schools value and promote? How do we measure a person’s intelligence?

What is Multiple Intelligence Howard Gardner theory of Multiple Intelligence was developed to explain the possibility that people are capable of “many different and discrete facets of cognition” they display different types of intelligences which can be measured, fostered and evaluated as isolated parts of the mind. Gardner believed that intelligence is “the ability to solve problems, or to fashion products, that are valued in one or more cultural or community settings”.
