Welcome to Bogle!!! CATS 6 TH GRADE PARENT ORIENTATION

Why Choose Bogle???  It’s the people, the climate, and the vision that set us apart from others  Our CATS program is not isolated from the rest of campus; our rooms are integrated into one of 3 classroom wings, and there are two other teams located in the same area  CATS kids share activities before and after school, electives, and lunch with students from other teams

Our differentiated Gifted Program is designed for the “Total Child” Differentiation looks at:  Depth, Complexity, Novelty, Acceleration Differentiation takes place in  Content, Process, Product Our goal is to meet the needs of your student

We’re more than just test scores…  Our test scores demonstrate excellence ( AIMS & Explore Test)  Total child  Utilization of Higher Order Thinking Skills (Depth & Complexity, Costa’s Questions, DOK, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Habits of a Systems Thinker), Cooperative Learning, PBL and 21 st Century lessons to prepare students for their future workforce  Testimonies of our current and past students

Bogle Cats provide a solid stepping stone to high school  Appropriate homework load  Hands-on (PBL / 21 st Century ) activities  We’re a TEAM of 110 students – Bogle provides a solid Middle School concept for ALL  Our motto is “We Do What’s Best for Our Students”  Students can choose from many electives and extracurricular clubs and sports

Extra help is always available…  We have a set tutoring schedule, and…  CATS teachers are available almost every morning before school (8:15 – 9:00) for help, and we provide students with a place to read or study in our rooms  Bogle has “Homework Hub” after school in the Media Center  We can be available after school by app’t

Our Teachers:  Mrs. Enright – Social Studies  Mrs. Phillips – Science  Mr. Turley - Math  Mrs. Scheitlin – Language Arts and Team Leader  Mr. Norris - 7 th Grade Year 2  Mr. Burkhart - 8 th Grade Year 3

Our Teachers:  We have many years of experience teaching gifted Jr. Hi. students  We’ve often been called a “Well-Oiled Machine”  We “loop” with our students for 2 years  We plan together at our team meetings coordinating assignments, tests, and project due dates
