October 6, 2011 Objective: Students will evaluate banking accounts and their fees.

Homework Get out your checking account comparison tables that we’ve been working on in the computer lab. What did you learn from this activity? Which bank did you choose… why?

Banking Fees A large percentage of bank profits comes from fees. The less you know and understand the fees the more likely you are to get charged a fee and the more money the bank makes. What can you do to protect your money?

Terms & Conditions Banks are required by the government to provide a disclosure with all the terms and conditions… however they don’t have to make the information equally available. What information was the easiest to find on your homework?

Conclusion What was our objective for today? We are nearing the end of our Unit on Money and will be moving on soon to Credit. Coming up Friday and next week we will begin to review for the Test on Money which will be next week as well as go to the computer library on Tuesday to work on our Semester project for the Money Unit. Tuesday, October 18 th 1 st Quarter grades are due, at that point we will have finished both the Career Unit and the Money Unit. This will be our HARD deadline for these two units, so if you have missing or makeup work you would like to complete you MUST turn it in before that deadline!
