Tableau Server  Quick tour  Scalability:  Whitepaper available on Tableau’s site  Tableau Public is basically a large Tableau Server  Can have clusters of Tableau Server nodes  Javascript API available if you want to build your own portal  Edit mode is powerful but also limited

Tableau Server - Notes  Tabcmd – need to find in Tableau Server installation directory  C:\Program Files\Tableau\Tableau Server\8.2\extras  Caching – Can change caching settings in Tableau Server Configuration. Can set to “only refresh when asked”, “refresh after X minutes”, and “never cache”.

Tabcmd  I could see using “refreshextracts” as part of ETL to refresh a workbook’s extract at appropriate time rather than on a schedule.
