Present: The East Asian Youth Secretariat New body under UNA-China, UNA-Japan, and UNA-Korea Comprised of selected young leaders of China, Japan, and Korea

Present: The East Asian Youth Secretariat The Mission 1. To solve global issues such as poverty directly 2. To contribute to global governance indirectly by advocating changes in regional and global policies

The Means 1. Hold an annual forum with participants from China, Japan, and Korea to adopt a joint political statement 2. Hold development projects involving participants from the three countries 3. Establish a permanent website advocating policy changes at a regional and global level.

For the Future Establishment of Asian Youth Union (AYU) 1.Expansion of Membership of AYU 2.Selection of Elites 3.Giving Opportunities to contact with foreign government

Establishment of AYU AYU: Asian Youth Union Nature: non-governmental organization Participants: youth under 25, those who are committed to the development of Asia Member: (current) China, Japan, Korea

Purpose: 1.promote mutual understanding between youth in Asia 2.enhance the cultural and economic cooperation in Asia 3. bring out the best potential of the youth in Asia and pave the way of youth governance

Future development of AYU 1.expand the membership of AYU (for example, to include South Asian countries or other regions in Asia)

Future development of AYU 2. expand the youth’s vision to a global level, such us: Launch student exchange programmes for Asian students and students outside Asia. Hold lectures, seminars and interaction activities between nations in and outside Asia

Future development of AYU 3. Select elites in AYU as the intern into governments of different nations in Asia, or as volunteer in the United Nations, or some important international and national conferences

Future development of AYU 4.Asian Youth Union( AYU) evolves to Asian Union (AU), a inter-governmental organization functions like EU
