Profit

Businesses have what is called a strong ‘commercial focus’. Essentially this means that they strive to make a profit. In simple terms the profit is the amount of money that remains after all costs are deducted from the revenue (income) of a business. Profit allows the owners of the business to gain a financial reward for their risk, innovation and effort

While the objective of profit is very much a part of business, it is not the only one. Other objectives include; Improving the welfare of their local community Providing rewarding work opportunities to employees Protecting and maintaining the environment
