Calculating Relative Humidity

Directions: Write the fraction then find the percentage. 1. There are 8 units of water in the air. At its current temperature, the air can hold 10 units of water. What is the relative humidity? 2. There are 24 units of water in the air. At its current temperature, the air can hold 25 units of water. What is the relative humidity? 3. In question 2, the air was holding 24/25 units of water. What would happen if it got colder?

Answers

= 80% = 96% The drop in temperature would cause the air to hold less water and become saturated. At 24/24, it would precipitate. (Rain, Snow, Hail, Sleet or Fog)
