What is our job? Provide timber worldwide, especially for Brazil Helps fuel Brazil government project to industrialize and to pay debts by fulfilling their demand of cheap mahogany and other timbers

Our involvement in deforestation? Only 3% of the causes of deforestation is from logging 60% of that percentage is illegal but the government is attempting to monitor this Logging is available in only certain areas along with a license

For or Against Deforestation? We are for the destruction of the rainforest but we need to place restrictions to avoid mindlessly chopping down all the trees and putting us out of business. Most of the jobs in Brazil are involved in the rainforest. If we were unable to keep cutting down trees, then our people have less job options. Without as many jobs available, Brazils GDP would begin to drop again. If we were not able to cut down the trees in the rainforest, then there wouldn’t be enough wood for the rest of the world. Creating homes, shelters, buildings, and many more things depend on the wood of the trees from our rainforest. If people are needing the wood, then there is a good reason to cut down the trees and give it to them to help Brazil’s economy.
