10 European Statistical Programme Article 13.1 of the Regulation No. 223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council on European statistics “the European Statistical Programme shall provide the framework for the development, production and dissemination of European statistics, the main fields and objectives of the actions envisaged for a period not exceeding five years” In 2010 Eurostat started the preparation of the European Statistical Programme (ESP) The main objectives of the ESP are the following: Provide quality statistical information to support the development, monitoring and evaluation of the policies of the European Union Implement the new method of production of European statistic Strengthen the partnership within the ESS and beyond.
