Our Key Objectives A free service to Members Help members reduce their running costs through buying together Help members reduce their Energy Consumption Share best practice Provide an advisory service for members on Energy Efficiency and Energy Generation with access to the best technology in the market place. The AIM Energy Action Group is an energy management consultancy in partnership with:

The Energy Hierarchy The AIM Energy Action Group is an energy management consultancy in partnership with:

Three key issues :- 1. The cost of supply 2. Generating Negawatts 3. Generating Kilowatts The AIM Energy Action Group is an energy management consultancy in partnership with:

Energy – Long Term Trends The AIM Energy Action Group is an energy management consultancy in partnership with:

The State of the Network Some Trusts unaware that Charities are excluded from the Climate Change Levy and pay VAT at 5% and not 20% Some Trusts are on deemed rates Some Trusts have been rolled into new contracts Some Trusts are extremely well managed and utilise a broker service, have had an energy audit, installed energy saving devices and installed renewable energy equipment. The AIM Energy Action Group is an energy management consultancy in partnership with:

How much is too much? (electricity)

How to purchase energy Typical savings of 10% Expected further savings of 5% to 10% 1. Renew with your current supplier 2.Use a consultant or broker 1.Join the Energy Basket The AIM Energy Action Group is an energy management consultancy in partnership with:

ACTION on ENERGY GROUP BUYING RECYCLE REVENUE MONITOR & METER ENERGY REDUCTION Ideally all savings recycled and used to fund future energy saving initiatives A wide range of gas, electricity, and water devices will help your organisation reduce its energy demand

The Process Provide a letter of authority, and energy supply information Get competitive quotes which co-terminate on July 31 tst 2016, 2017,2018 Synchronised contract end dates The Reverse Auction will happen in early May Quotes will be valid for a period of 48 hours Individual organisations will be asked to sign contracts within this period We will be recommending locking in at least a minimum two year contract The AIM Energy Action Group is an energy management consultancy in partnership with:

Energy Efficient Technologies Gas, oil or LPG Boiler Management Systems Voltage Optimisers Replace bulbs with LED Systems Water Saving Devices Install zone controls for heating Install smart meters Energy Generating Technology Wood Pellet Boilers Solar Thermal and Thermal Dynamic Systems Solar PV Wind and Water Turbines The AIM Energy Action Group is an energy management consultancy in partnership with:

The Contract - Cost savings and repayments

An LED Installation LED lasts 5 times more than normal bulbs e.g. up to 15 years in schools Reduces energy bills by circa 65% (long term), carbon reduction by 65% No lamp replacement cost - reduces maintenance costs by 80% Better lumen output and directional light for staff & students Sesco ensures that the entire building(s) is funded at the same time, not required to spread retrofit over long period of time – maximised savings No requirement to engage in procurement/tendering process as the assets are owned by a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) during agreement

£100 million wrapped up for charities in energy VAT clause A third of the UK's 180,000 Registered Charities are paying too much for their energy, unaware that they qualify for a reduced VAT rate of 5% and could be in line for rebates worth £100 million. According to the business price comparison service - 'Make It Cheaper' - charities will have made a collective VAT overpayment of £22.6 million on their electricity bills alone in 2010, plus a further £8.5 million on Climate Change Levy (CCL) payments from which they are also exempt2. Charities that have been overpaying VAT and CCL can claim a rebate of up to three years - see our energy guide for charities for more information. The Regal Community Theatre in Bathgate near Edinburgh, for example, recently received £11,000 after writing to its supplier to point out it had been paying the incorrect rates for gas and electricity. Gillian Robertson, financial administrator at the threate, commented:
