12/25/ Title: IEEE Std. P1547 Standard for Interconnection and Interoperability of Distributed Energy Resources with Associated Electric Power Systems Interfaces. Scope: This standard establishes criteria and requirements for interconnection of distributed energy resources (DER) with electric power systems (EPS) and associated interfaces Purpose: This document provides a uniform standard for the interconnection and interoperability of distributed energy resources (DER) with electric power systems (EPS). It provides requirements relevant to the interconnection and interoperability performance, operation and testing, and, safety, maintenance and security considerations. IEEE P Full Revision - PAR Approved March 27,2014

12/25/20158 Title: Draft Standard Conformance Test Procedures for Equipment Interconnecting and Interoperable with Distributed Energy Resources, Electric Power Systems and Associated Interfaces Scope: This standard specifies the type, production, and commissioning tests and evaluations that shall be performed to demonstrate that the interconnection and interoperable functions and equipment of a distributed energy resource (DER) conform to IEEE Standard Purpose: Interconnection equipment that connects DER to an electric power system (EPS) must meet the requirements specified in IEEE Standard Standardized test procedures are necessary to establish and verify compliance with those requirements. These test procedures must provide both repeatable results, independent of test location, and flexibility to accommodate a variety of DER technologies. Where physical tests are not practical, evaluation techniques using analysis and simulations are established. P (full revision) Initial Straw Man PAR

9 Ideas for Testing: e.g. see P1547 [full revision] Minutes; and, your ideas/experience [solutions-based?] : 1.Interoperability relative interface coordination portal tests 2.Communications and control portal tests 3.Evaluation – analysis and simulation 4.Need vs. risk for testing 5.System-level vs. components 6.Periodic tests and evaluations; changes after installed 7.etc. Ideas from industry: Last, Fname i) Last, Fname ii) Last, Fname iii) Last, Fname

Industry Suggestions – P /25/ Industry Suggestions -- P (full revision PAR) Basso, T Title: Draft Standard Conformance Test Procedures for Equipment Interconnecting and Interoperable with Distributed Energy Resources, Electric Power Systems and Associated Interfaces. Basso, T Scope: This standard specifies the type, production, & commissioning tests, and, other tests or evaluations that shall be performed to demonstrate that the interconnection and interoperable functions and equipment for a DER conform to IEEE P1547. Where physical tests are not practical, evaluation techniques, such as analysis or simulation, are specified. Conformance is established through a combination of type (also known as “design” tests), production, commissioning, and periodic tests, and by installation evaluation and other evaluations. Basso, T Purpose: Conformance of equipment for interconnection and interoperability needs to be validated through standardized tests, procedures and evaluations that provide both repeatable results, independent of test location, and, flexibility to accommodate a variety of DER technologies and functions. It is recognized that functions and equipment providing interconnection and interoperability can be integrated into a single device or as an assembly of components, each satisfying a limited set of requirements. Components satisfying a limited set of requirements need to be tested for those requirements in accordance with this standard. Basso, T
