About this Class  This class is divided up into 3 main parts: Classwork & Homework, Labs Projects & Activities, Tests & Quizzes  If you are ever absent and need to make up classwork, labs, or tests; please go to my class website:

Classwork and Homework  Classwork/Homework is worth 20% of your grade.  Classwork/Homework consists of: Cornell Notes, and Bellwork

Bellwork  Bellwork begins immediately when you enter the class  Bellwork is due every Friday unless otherwise stated  Everyday of Bellwork is worth 20 points  A weeks Worth of Bellwork (5 days) is worth 100 points.  Bellwork can be made up online at my website

Cornell Notes  Cornell Notes are due on the day of the test  Everyday of Cornell Notes is worth 50 points  Each Unit we will have 3 or 4 days of notes  So 3 days of notes is worth 150 points and 4 days of notes is worth 200 points!!!!!!!!!

Cornell Note Points Main Section of your notes are worth 20 points Summaries are worth 20 points. Summaries contain diagrams and important information which may be on the test!!!!

Please Note:  Summaries and Bellwork are usually a hint to you will see on a test  Summaries and Bellwork often contain test questions or diagrams that you will most likely come across during a test  The best way to get a good grade in class is to complete note summaries and bellwork!!!!!!!!!!!

Labs and Activities  Labs and Activities are worth 20% of your grade  After notes, we will usually spend between 30 and 40 minutes on a lab  Labs or Activities are due either the day they are assigned or the day after

Labs  I take lab safety very seriously  Anyone caught goofing around in lab will receive a zero on the assignment for that day  Anyone caught abusing school property and lab materials will also receive a zero on the assignment for that day  If you were absent for a lab, come see about a makeup assignment  Labs should always be written in complete sentences

Lab Write-Ups PPPPurpose – What is the purpose of this lab? Or, Why I am doing this? -Hypothesis: A prediction of what you expect to happen (an educated guess) Make sure you always write a hypothesis!!!!!! MMMMaterials – What kind of equipment or materials will I need to complete the lab? PPPProcedure- What steps taken to achieve a desired result RRRResults/Data – What kind of data or information did I obtain? QQQQuestions and Conclusion – What did I learn? Did I perform the lab correctly? If not, why not? What went wrong? Each lab will have questions. Be sure every question is answered correctly AAAALWAYS ANSWER IN COMPLETE SENTENCES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Projects  Throughout the semester we will be working on a couple GROUP PROJECTS  These Projects are meant to be done collaborate, in other words you are expected to talk and discuss your thoughts ideas and knowledge with other students in you lab group  If someone in your lab group is not pulling their weight (goofing off, not working, being disrespectful) then let me know and that person will receive a ZERO on the project

Tests and Quizzes  Tests and Quizzes are worth 50% of your grade  Don’t like your test grade? Well, you have up to 3 retakes to improve your score  The worst thing you can do in this class is miss a test or quiz and not make it up  To Makeup a test or Retake a test you will need to visit: and register for my class

Academic Integrity  If you are caught cheating, I will take the assignment from you and the work will count as a zero in my grade book  Copying other peoples work is a form of Plagiarism!!!!!

Movies  Make an effort to listen and learn!!!  Their will almost always be questions that accompany the movie  The movie will often be followed by a quiz!!!!  Remember: tests and quizzes are worth 50% of your grade!!!!

Part 2  You are now ready to begin working on Part 2 of the assignment  Please register on Quizstar by going to:  Follow the directions on you assignment and DO NOT go to QUIZSTAR PRO!!!!!!

Test Notes  Test Notes are notes that you can use on the test!!!!!!  Students who complete their test notes usually receive an A or B on the test  Test Notes will be passed out 1-2 days before the test and they are to be completed as homework  Test Notes are due on the day of the test along with Cornell Notes
