MY ACTION PROPOSAL

Topic I will reduce the use of plastics by using canvas bags when shopping or when bringing clothes to school.

Problem My family and I used plastic bags or plastic products often when shopping at the supermarket and other shops. I’ve done it since I am 5 years old. It means in 5 years I spent much plastics for daily usage, so now I want to change my bad habit by using canvas bags rather than plastics bags.

My Inquiry Questions 1. What are kinds of chemicals use to make plastics? 2. What do people feel when to many plastics being waste? 3. What are the benefits of using biodegradable plastics? 4. Why are some types of plastics are hard to decompose or to recycle? 5. What are the solutions to make plastics easier to be biodegradable? 6. What do people do to make plastics safer, efficient or more biodegradable?

Purpose Purpose of my action is to reduce plastics. I reduce plastics because plastics contains dangerous gasses they are called Methane and Carbon dioxide. Which can cause our atmosphere to damage.

My Prior Knowledge Plastics produce methane and carbon dioxide Some plastics are biodegradable (less gasses produced by the plastics) Plastics takes a very long time to decompose When plastics are used too long they are easily get Thorned Plastics could be recycled to anything like laptops, toys, new bottles, boats, food wrappers, bags, chairs, tables, new discs according to the type and the quality of the plastics. My action can make less dangerous gasses to reduce air pollution Plastics have many different forms that could be shaped Plastics were invented at 1862 by Alexander Parkes When Plastics get to long to be used the gasses will increase its population

What are Plastics ? Plastics contain a chemical that are moldable, which is called sulphur, molecular mass, and some organic solids. Plastics take a long time to be decomposed or recycled because of the organic solids and the chemicals which are too hard to be processed. Too many plastics are bad because they can produce more Methane and carbon dioxide. Those dangerous gasses makes our air dirty, animals get poisoned because of the gasses attacking their respiratory system, atmospheres got holes / destroyed, nutrition’s around us decreasing. They are all because of the gasses. Sulphurs Organic Solids

Causes People using too much plastics ( plastic bags, plastics wrappers, plastic bottles and other plastic things ) because: Easier to be used and to keep things inside We can throw it away instantly It is light (easy to bring)

Effects of using too much plastics to our environment More plastic rubbish More diseases will come to some places Many living things and even us get poisoned of the dangerous gasses The atmosphere will be get damaged because of the gasses Less nutrition (food) because getting many living things poisoned. We will get skin cancers because of the sunlight coming in Earth Arctic melting Rising water level Floods happen

More storms happening at the oceans because of hotter moisture air Habitats broken because full of plastics around People can’t go to work because of more diseases and floods Wild animals escape from their habitat Global economy will decrease immediately because employees cant work Some products will be not produced anymore Boats will be in business to pass around the city.

ORGANIZATION I will use canvas bags to shop at the supermarket I will use canvas bags when I bring my clothes to school.

Ways to Counteract my problem Use Canvas bags when shopping to supermarket or use canvas or bags when bringing clothes to school for changing Reuse the plastics such as : For Trash covers, making new toys, To bring bottles or carry other things, keep toys neat and tidy, for making the bag for the plants to keep the soil. Use other eco friendly products such as : Biodegradable bags, canvas bags.  

I will keep making myself more comfort to use canvas bags. I have learnt to use it daily because I usually use plastic bags. I felt a little bit uncomfortable when I used the canvas bags and usually I forget it at School. I will keep making myself more comfort to use canvas bags.

Some of my friends use it, so I can use it for many times as well. I felt more custom to bring it to school because I have experiencing many times when I shop to the supermarket. I will keep doing my action to use canvas bags more often.

I have learnt to use canvas bags more often now so I think I reduce the use of plastics bags frequently. I get custom to use canvas bags more often so it starts as habit for me. I will keep using canvas bags for other purposes.

Conclusion So now I can conclude that rather than using plastic bags it’s more efficient and friendly to the environment to use canvas bags because we could use it longer time than using plastic bags. Canvas bags have good quality material rather than plastic bags.
