Vocabulary Strategy: Greek Roots Commas are used to separate words or groups of words within a complete thought. Use commas to separate items in a series A series may by single words or groups of words Example: Yesterday I dusted, mopped, and swept. Write the sentences below. Add commas where they are needed. 1. The day was wet cold and windy. 2. I searched for the lost contact lens in the sink on the counter and on the floor.
