Slide #1 Dissociative disorders Catherine Bedford per. 3

slide #2 My section is about amnesia, trauma, and dissociative disorders. Amnesia is when a person has a sudden loss of memory. Trauma is a painful or emotional experience. And another dissociative disorder is called multiple personality disorder. It is a disorder in which people have two or more personalities.

Slide # 3 The main idea of my section is to teach about many different dissociative disorder. And how they affect people in many different ways.

Slide #4 Important meanings from my section are amnesia, dissociative disorder, and trauma. Amnesia is a sudden loss of memory. Dissociative is a mental disorder is in which a person becomes disconnected from his or her former identity. Trauma is a painful or emotional experience. An example of amnesia would be a person who doesn’t know who they are or where they are at. Trauma would be how they are emotionally after loosing someone close to them. Another disorder known as multiple personality disorder is a disorder in which a person can have two or more personalities. Most people with this disorder are unaware they have it. The disorder more common with us in general is trauma. More of us face loosing someone very close two us and react in different ways. It is important for the class to learn to be more informed of different disorders they may face or have faced.

Slide #5 One day a girl named Amy looses her mom and dad in a car accident. She was very devastated. She didn’t know how she can live without them. her aunt and uncle became her legal guardians. She didn’t get a long with any of her family. She didn’t talk, eat, or even sleep she just stayed in her bed and did nothing. This is an example of trauma it is a painful emotional experience they can last a life time.

Slide #6 I feel this topic is emotional. I want the class to remember from this topic that these disorders are serious and we all may face them sometime in our life time.

Slide #7 My section is about different disorders and how they affect us emotionally and physically. And how we can also have disorders that we may be unaware of them. That can happen at any time of any day.
