Government Ottawa is the capital of Canada Nuuk is the capital of Greenland

Both countries have constitutional monarchies with democratic parliaments – “ruled” by a queen but also have a type of congress

There is universal suffrage at age 18

Only 1% of the Canadian federal budget is spent on the military and Greenland has no regular military forces

Canada works with the U.S. in the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) in regards to air and missile defense
