 We chose “Android application developing”.  We chose that topic because: nowadays, Android is the most popular open-source software platform to create powerful application on mobile phones, especially on smart phones such as iphone,… Moreover, Android is very new to us and interesting, too. Hence, we chose Android as our topic in this course. Our target is that we will create a useful Android application.

 We contact and discuss with each other through our website: developing/ developing/  About every one week, we create a small topic (we write it at tab “wiki”). We read together, dicuss and help each other learn these new things.  Moreover, We share documents together. We upload these documents at tab “Download”.

 If anyone of us has problems, we create a issue at tab “Issue” (it will be sent directly to the of the other members).  In addition, we ussually hold a yahoo conference to discuss and remind each other.

 We will create a calculator on mobile phone  As we know, mobile phones don’t have a full scientific calculator (although it have a scientific calculator, this calculator doesn’t have enough functions such as solving simultaneous linear equations…).  As a result of this fact our group decided to create a scientific calculator with the functions that don’t have on the phone such as solving simultaneous linear equations… With our application, the users can learn math with their mobile phone without carrying big normal calculator. It must be so convenient and interesting.

Top 3 “calculators” on the Android Market (source: calculator-apps-for-android/ ) calculator-apps-for-android/ #1–HandyCalc Calculator by mmin This app give you a lot of the basic functionality including all scientific calculator capabilities, graphing, and the ability to solve systems of equations. Answers can be returned in fraction and radical form or converted to decimals. There are also simple copy and paste capabilities, something that should be available in more apps. The app even comes with a demo doc and a link to a video tutorial

# 2–Scientific Calculator by Kreactive Technologies Scientific Calculator had the nicest UI of any calculator app I reviewed. Buttons are attractive, with a nice top-lit effect, and a good size, making them easy to press. A flick scroll or double arrow button allows you to easily access scientific functions. The calculator does feature some basic graphing capabilities. This calculator comes very close to 2-line functionality. You can enter an entire calculation before pressing enter. Then you can return to previous calculations by long pressing the input area. There are more powerful apps on this list, but UI is important in an Android app, and Scientific Calculator has a great one.

#3–Calculus Tools by Andy Mc A fantastic calculator app for calculus students is Calculus Tools. As its name implies, this app is focused almost exclusively on calculus, so it’s not for everyone. The app can find integrals as well derivatives up to the fourth degree, both algebraically as well as with with defined limits. It also has the ability to help you solve problems involving arc length, surface area, and Taylor series. Your results can also be graphed. The app also contains a pretty extensive list of formulas that calculus students have to memorize. The only real drawbacks with this app are that its scientific calculator mode is still in beta and fairly limited, and that all inputing must be done with your default keyboard.

 We will also create a scientific calculator with more than normal functions (can calculate with default calculator on mobile phone)  Concretely, beside normal calculus such as: plus, abstract, multiply, divide. We will create 2 “special functions”: solving simultaneous linear equations and polynomial equation.

 With the discription of our “calculator” before and in comparison with the other “calculator” on Android market, our “calculator” is much simpler than them both in interface and functions.  But our “calculator” also have primary and necessary function that may attract user.  Our good point is simple, useful and convinient
