Utterances From the Cross

An Utterance of Forgiveness (Luke 23:34) When was this fulfilled? They didn’t know (Acts 2:36; 3:17) What were they told to do? (Acts 2:38; 3:19) When God forgives, he doesn’t bring it up again (Hebrews 10:17) Why was it, BY INSPIRATION, brought up again? Jesus had the authority to forgive sins (Mark 2:1-12) He didn’t say they were forgiven; He requested it.

An Utterance of Salvation (Luke 23:43) A denial of the necessity of baptism? What do the Scriptures say? This is not an exception! Jesus has the authority to say sins are forgiven! He did so while living as a man. What about after His resurrection? (Acts 9:6; 22:16) Whose Situation are YOU in?

An Utterance of Trust and Reunion (Luke 23:46) Psalm 31:5 Peter recognized the importance of this saying (1 Peter 2:23) So did those around the cross (Luke 23:47; Matthew 27:54) How many of us say to God, “You are my Fortress”? Do we put our trust in God to “Pull [us] out of the net which they have secretly laid for [us]”?

We Need to Put Our Trust in God! Trust Him for Forgiveness Trust Him for Salvation Trust Him for the Reunion All of this is only in Christ!
